Common as muck

no sell out

You really know that a artist, or should I say, an entire musical legacy is dead when your favourite ”underground” rapper makes a record with Lilly fucking Allen. How many times are we prepared to slap and kick this poor drunk hoe that used to be called hip hop but now is only known as simply Pop? Lilly Allen. Common. Wouldn’t believe it if it hadn’t come from the bearded horses mouth.

Oddly I was listening to BE the other day and thinking how underrated and magnificent it was. Kanye West production, clever rhymes and a sense of trying to make a rap record for the fans. Spin on two years and our preaching hero has caught the Hollywood fever and now has Allen on his next LP. So what is it saying? It’s saying that BE was the final push that Common was going to give before throwing in the towel and cashing in on Hip Hop the same way 50 cent or Diddy does. These idiots are gang banging poor old Pop and Common, once objecting from the sidelines has now stripped of and is next in the queue for a tap of dat azz. Enjoy your ride by all means Common but please, in future, please don’t release any more holier-than-thou faux ”i love hip hop” records you sell out
